really love how in silence of the library river is laughing with donna but when donna asks her what happens to her in the future she goes grave and silent… it’s this cool reception moment with a cool dw twist because this is a future era interacting with an event occurring in a past era except the event hasn’t happened yet. rewatching, we know moffat took a hard stand against memory wipe in his era! so it’s very meaningful to see the horror on river’s face. and it’s so wonderful how the “not those times” moment happens in that episode, ahead of donna forgetting. it’s moffat who giving out its ethos in ADVANCE. it’s really future dw talking through river’s mouth! what a meaningful character introduction honestly
I think it should take longer to make tv shows and movies. I think shooting days should be shorter. I think AD’s lives should be longer. I think we shouldn’t have to be in a goddamn rush all the time. I think we should have the time it takes to make good art. I think fans should wait even longer than they do and be happy that everyone who made the art is getting full nights of sleep.

There’s a long list of things children can do that are considered disrespectful to adults. The list includes asking for a reason, being stressed in their vicinity, not calling them ma’am or sir, standing up for yourself when they make fun of you, and obeying them but not being happy about it.
But an adult can do almost anything to a child without it being considered abuse. Murder, rape, and a few other things are the only exceptions.
But children are the ones who feel entitled? Children are the ones who are out of control? Children are the ones who need to learn respect?
I am so fucking sick of the idea that standing up for yourself or trying to better understand what you did wrong is considered disrespectful. PEOPLE DESERVE RESPECT REGARDLESS OF AGE. Children are still learning about the world and guess fucking what so are you and you always will be.
for a while there i was sympathetic to tumblr because of how much they’re in debt; i was kind of like “well of course they’re absolutely desperate for new users, they literally need the money or else tumblr goes down forever”. and then suddenly today it hit me that there’s actually no fucking reason for that debt to be causing these ui changes? the userbase has been INCREDIBLY clear about what they want from tumblr over the years, not to mention clear about the fact that even twitter people don’t need this place to look like twitter. it actually would be very… EASY? for them to just make changes in a direction people would actually be HAPPY with?
for fuck’s sake there were people trying to organize a “crab day” for tumblr despite tumblr doing nothing but telling us to go fuck ourselves for months on end. there were people spending hundreds of dollars on check marks just for the glee of MAKING FUN of twitter. can you IMAGINE how much money this userbase would donate to tumblr if they actually made ui updates geared toward what people have been asking for?
if tumblr actually crowdsourced ideas or even just LISTENED to their userbase it may have been possible for them to make way more money than they’re begging for now, they just insist on trying to drive their actual demographic and loyal userbase out for literally no reason

Twitter has officially rebranded to X just a day or two after the move was announced.
The official branding is that a tweet is now called “an X”, for which there are too many jokes to make.
The official account is still @twitter because someone else owns @X and they didn’t reclaim the username first.
The logo is 𝕏 which is the Unicode character Unicode U+1D54F so the logo cannot be copyrighted and it is highly likely that it cannot be protected as a trademark.
Outside the visual logo, the trademark for the use of the name “X” in social media is held by Meta/Facebook, while the trademark for “X” in finance/commerce is owned by Microsoft.
The rebranding has been stopped in Japan as the term “X Japan” is trademarked by the band X JAPAN.
Elon had workers taking down the “Twitter” name from the side of the building. He did not have any permits to do this. The building owner called the cops who stopped the crew midway through so the sign just says “er”.
He still plans to call his streaming and media hosting branch of the company as “Xvideo”. Nobody tell him.
This man wants you to give him control over all of your financial information.
